Cherubs were once the undisputed superstars of sentimental postcards. From the late Victorian era through the 1920s, printers couldn’t get enough of them: plump, rosy-cheeked, eternally airborne, always busy with ribbons, hearts, quills or messages of love. These two cherubs belong to that golden age of celestial whimsy.
